Donor Gifts Matched by Employers
Some businesses offer an employment benefit called an Employee Matching Gift program. Programs of this kind match a donation made by an employee to a charity with a corporate donation to the same charity.
In almost all cases, the donor and the charity (meaning Fractured Atlas) must complete some paperwork or online confirmation to process a gift of this kind. Projects should not complete any sections of the matching paperwork – all forms should be sent to our staff to review and complete.
Some companies handle their matches through a third party website, and the donor should send the link to Fractured Atlas for processing. If a business offers matching funds for volunteer time to your project, Fractured Atlas will require that the project show documentation of the volunteer hours to be matched.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Fractured Atlas has accepted matching gifts from a variety of companies. Have your donor inquire with their employer to see if Fractured Atlas is already in their system.
- Matching gift checks usually take anywhere from 3-9 months to arrive once the paperwork has been submitted. We will alert you when a matching gift has been received and processed in support of your project.
