Overview
Launched 10 years ago as a national alliance of arts service organizations, Fractured Atlas’s Open Arts Network was founded to expand the professional resources available to constituents of our colleague organizations. The network offered free or subsidized Fractured Atlas memberships to artists and arts organizations affiliated with service organizations throughout the country, regardless of budget size, discipline, or geography. Over the decade, 190 organizations participated in the network.
Much has changed in the past 10 years, and Fractured Atlas is now in the process of reevaluating the value of this program for our members and partners. We are always looking for new ways of offering game-changing products and services to creative individuals and organizations looking to build infrastructure that supports their artistic vision. As a result, we have determined that the Open Arts Network is no longer the best way for us to deliver high quality and impactful services to artists and organizations in the field.
As of August 31, 2017, Fractured Atlas will be discontinuing the Open Arts Network program and no new partner organizations will be added to the Network after June 1, 2017. Members receiving these benefits now will not be affected as long as they maintain an active, uninterrupted paid membership.
FAQ
I am a Fractured Atlas member receiving an Open Arts network discount; how will this affect me?
Fractured Atlas will continue to honor your Open Arts Network discount—$10 off membership dues every month for the first year, and 50% off every month after the initial year in perpetuity for the lifetime of the membership—for any members who signed up for a Professional or Organization level of membership through an Open Arts Network partner prior to the August 31, 2017 cutoff.
I signed up through an Open Arts Network partner but have a free Community membership now; can I take advantage of the discount in the future?
Free Community level members who signed up through a Network partner will have until August 31, 2017 to upgrade to either the Professional or Organizational level and take advantage of the lifetime discount.
I was a member through an Open Arts Network partner and decided to terminate my Fractured Atlas membership; can I re-start the membership at a later date and keep the discount?
If you discontinue paying dues after August 31, 2017 and restart the membership at a later date, you will no longer have access to the discounted rate. If you are currently terminated and want to re-join with the discount, be sure to do so before August 31, 2017.
My organization is an Open Arts Network partner organization; will we be notified?
You will receive more information from us by mid-June 2017. We kindly ask any Open Arts Network partner organizations that are publicly promoting a Fractured Atlas membership to their constituents to update any communications and website content accordingly. (Not sure if you’re a partner organization? Check the list below.)
I still have questions!
Please feel free to contact support@fracturedatlas.org with any questions or concerns.
Thank you.
