Your sponsorship may exist on an ongoing basis as long as your membership remains active and your project is in good standing. When the time comes for you to end the sponsorship, there are two ways to close out your sponsored fund.
-
End: If you cancel your membership or downgrade it to the Community level, your fiscal sponsorship will automatically end, as maintaining the Professional or Organization level of membership is a requirement of sponsorship. If you have any remaining sponsored funds left when you end your project, a staff member will contact you about next steps.
- Expire: If you have completed your project activities and want to maintain your membership with Fractured Atlas, please contact support@fracturedatlas.org. We have the ability to “expire” your project in our system once you have submitted your final Annual Report. Marking a project “expired” in our database will allow you to apply for a new project in the future.
If your sponsorship ends or expires while funds still remain in your project's fund balance, you will be able to access these funds for project related expenses for 90 days only. Once 90 days passes, the funds will be permanently absorbed into Fractured Atlas's General Fund to support our Programs.
An Annual Report will be required when you end or expire your fiscal sponsorship if you have received donations or released funds throughout the year. If you cancel or downgrade your membership before you have submitted your Annual Report, we will email you a link to the missing report.
Please note, we are unable to suspend or put your fiscal sponsorship "on hold," as sponsorships can only be active or inactive. If you need to temporarily end your sponsorship, please contact us at support@fracturedatlas.org and we will be happy to discuss the best options for your circumstance.
