Funders will frequently require periodic reports on a project's activities and finances during or upon completion of a grant award period.
As a part of Fractured Atlas receiving grants for the charitable purposes of your project, we require review and approval of all grant reporting materials by our team prior to submission to the funder. This is to provide oversight to ensure that grant funds are used in accordance with grant agreements and our fiscal sponsorship policies, and, as the legal recipient of the funds, to provide reports as required by the grantor and/or the grantor’s grant agreement.
If your grant award requires a report, please be sure to pay attention to emails from support@fracturedatlas.org and ensure they are not going into your Spam folder. At least 10-business days before the report is due, please alert us that the report is ready for review by Fractured Atlas Staff by submitting the grant report. Reports submitted for review under the 10-business day review period will be subject to our standard rush review fees. After review, the report will need to be submitted to the funder based on their guidelines.
There are two ways to initiate a grant report review with Fractured Atlas:
- When possible, Fractured Atlas will provide email reminders when a report deadline is approaching. These emails are sent one month prior to the report deadline. If you receive a reminder email about an upcoming grant report, please use the link provided in this email to submit your report materials for review via the My Fiscal Sponsorship Dashboard.
- If you have a grant report deadline coming up, but do not have a reminder email from Fractured Atlas, this likely means reporting deadlines were not outlined in your grant agreement upon our signing. In this case, please send your materials and/or online report login credentials to support@fracturedatlas.org for review and approval before submission to the funder.
If you receive a notification that your grant report is due and you’re unsure what the funder is requesting, please contact the funder and ask them. Once you have this information, please include their request in your grant review submission.
If the funder has provided an extension to your report deadline or if report requirements change during the grant period, please let Fractured Atlas know as soon as you are able, so we can update our records.
When reviewing grant reports, our team is:
- Confirming the project activities done with this grant fall under the project you are fiscally sponsored for,
- Ensuring your report materials meet the requirements of the funder,
- And confirming that Fractured Atlas’ 8% administrative fee is included in any expense reporting.
Failure to submit timely grant reports for our review may result in a temporary hold on your fiscal sponsorship account until materials are received.
