Some donors and institutional funders may want to remit award payments or donations via Wire Transfer, ACH or transfer donations of stock. See Wire Transfer and Stock Donations for our policy on these types of donations.
Wire Transfer and ACH Donation Procedure
Fractured Atlas staff should be notified by email if a donor wishes to make a donation by wire transfer or ACH. You can send the donor's email address to Fractured Atlas in order for staff to reach out the the donor directly to begin this process, or have the donor reach out to support@fracturedtlas.org directly.
For donations of $5,000 or more made by wire transfer or ACH, the major gift letter must be filled out, signed, and returned to Fractured Atlas. We also ask that donors please include the project name in the Memo Line when initiating the wire transfer or ACH if possible.
Please note, wire and ACH contributions require the work of multiple staff members to process, therefore it may take several days or weeks after the wire or ACH has been initiated for the contribution to be processed. Once a wire or ACH contribution is processed in support of the project, it is then held for seven (7) calendar days before it is available for release. Please plan accordingly.
Stock Donation Transfer Procedure
For donations of stock, the donor, broker, or client's financial manager should contact Fractured Atlas directly at support@fracturedatlas.org in order to begin the stock transfer process. Our staff will provide your donor with Fractured Atlas's brokerage information along with a stock donation letter that needs to be completed, signed, and returned to Fractured Atlas before we can process the stock transfer. Donors should alert Fractured Atlas staff once the stock has been transferred in order for our brokers to continue the next step in the donation process.
If you or your donor have additional questions about donations of stock, please contact us at support@fracturedatlas.org
With regards to timeline, gifts of stock require the work and coordination of multiple staff members across multiple departments and typically take several weeks to a month to be processed after a transfer has been initiated. Once a stock contribution is processed in support of the project, it is then held for seven (7) calendar days before it is available for release. Please plan accordingly.
