Receiving Donations at Events

Fiscally sponsored projects have the opportunity to collect donations at their fundraisers. We encourage projects to set up a "donation station" where donors can contribute throughout the event. This can include a laptop or other device where donors can contribute by credit card.

Please note that processing many donations on one device can trigger fraud detection that is in place to prevent someone from authorizing charges to multiple cards from one location. You will want to have multiple devices available for credit card donations to prevent this or use a Fundraising by Fractured Atlas fundraising campaign to process donations on mobile devices. 

Projects can also receive donations by check at these stations. All check donations must be reported online and mailed to Fractured Atlas to be processed. Fractured Atlas will not accept cash donations and these donations are not considered tax-deductible. 

Note:
Projects should not collect credit card pledges from their donors at the event. It is a prohibited activity of our program for our projects to collect credit card information from their donors, as it creates a major liability for Fractured Atlas.
