We refer to each place you can buy or sell tickets through Artful.ly a Sales Channel. Some channels are public where your fans can buy tickets directly, and some are private and only accessible to you and the admin users on your account.
- Event Storefront (public)
- Event Widget/WordPress Plugin (public)
- Event Box Office (private)
- Sales Console (private)
You can use all of these or just a one or two. No matter what channels you use, all tickets come from the same pool so you don't need to allocate a certain number of tickets to a given channel.
The storefront is a public facing URL that you can share with your fans, it displays upcoming shows. Fans can select the show they'd like to attend and check out using a credit card.
To find the event storefront, open the event and expand the Share & Sell from the side menu on an event page.
Select Storefront to view the URL. You can use this URL in your ticket promotion materials or link to it from your site or other promotion outlets.
The Artful.ly widget enables you to take donations and sell tickets directly from your own website. A shopping cart will appear on your web page when someone clicks “Buy” or “Donate.” Using the widget requires a certain level of coding knowledge. If you aren't familiar with web programming, save yourself some trouble and use the storefront.
The event plugin works on websites that use WordPress as a content management system. Like the widget, the Artful.ly plugin enables patrons to donate and purchase tickets directly from your website. If your site is hosted on wordpress.com and not on a domain you own, you cannot use this plugin.
Show Box Office
The Box Office is a private sales channel you and your staff can use to sell tickets at the door or over the phone. This is ideal for door sales the day-of or right before the show. It also provides easy access to your Door List to check in patrons as they arrive. There are no ticket fees applied to Box Office sales. You only pay the credit card processing fee if you sell tickets via card. Note, you can continue to sell tickets after showtime through the Box Office only.
The Sales Console is another private sales channel that you and your staff can use to build orders for your patrons. This is ideal for advance orders, especially those that involve more than just tickets. You combine tickets, discounts, memberships, passes, and donations and process the whole order in one transaction. Note, shows will become unavailable in the sales console after showtime, if you're looking to continue to sell tickets after the published showtime, be sure to use the Box Office.
