Participating in a Giving Day Event with Fractured Atlas
What is a Giving Day Event?
Giving Day Events are popular fundraising and engagement tools that encourage collective charitable giving over a dedicated period of time, typically ranging from 24 hours to a week. These events are often driven by online fundraising campaigns and can be a powerful way to rally support, energize your community, and build momentum around a specific cause or project.
Can my project participate in a Giving Day Event?
Not all giving platforms are compatible with fiscal sponsorship, and some may not support the requirements of our program. Before launching a campaign, even if you’ve participated in the past, fiscally sponsored projects must reach out to Fractured Atlas staff to confirm that the chosen platform is compatible with our fiscal sponsorship program.
If your project is interested in participating in a Giving Day Event, please follow the guide below to help ensure your event runs smoothly and remains compliant with Fractured Atlas policies. Thank you for partnering with us to set your campaign up for success!

Step 1: Notify Fractured Atlas
Participation in Giving Day and Giving Events campaigns requires Fractured Atlas approval on a case-by-case basis. Even if your project participated in past campaigns, approval is required for each new campaign.
To request approval before launching a campaign, email support@fracturedatlas.org with the following information:
- Your project name
- Name and date of the Giving Day Event
- Link to the campaign or event page
- Name and email of Giving Day Event organizer
- Any relevant campaign details
This step is required because Giving Day platforms and policies can change over time, and therefore, we need to verify the campaign platform remains compatible with Fractured Atlas’s fiscal sponsorship program.
Step 2: Fractured Atlas will Confirm Eligibility
Fractured Atlas will review the platform and confirm if your project is eligible to participate. Once approved, you will receive confirmation from our staff to proceed with event registration.
Step 3: Register for the Giving Day Event
After approval, complete your Giving Day Event registration. Most platforms require:
- A sponsorship confirmation letter
- A confirmed payment method for receiving funds
Please work directly with Fractured Atlas staff at support@fracturedatlas.org to finalize these details.
Important note: Fractured Atlas must have access to the fundraising account or be added as an Admin to the project’s fundraising profile on the Giving Day Event platform.
Step 4: Campaign Page Review
Once your Giving Day or Giving Event campaign is registered, please email Fractured Atlas a link to your completed campaign/event page.
Our staff will then:
- Confirm that Fractured Atlas has been granted administrative access to your campaign profile
- Verify that the Required Standard Text is properly included in all applicable sections
- Notify you of any necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with our fiscal sponsorship program
Once everything is confirmed, we’ll create a grant record for your project to track the campaign details and any incoming funds.
Step 5: Launch and Manage Your Campaign
After approval, you can officially launch your campaign! Throughout the campaign, monitor your campaign for updates or changes requiring Fractured Atlas’s attention and inform support@fracturedatlas.org of any significant developments.
Step 6: Campaign Close & Fund Disbursement
At the close of the campaign, Fractured Atlas will receive a disbursement directly from the Giving Day Event platform. These disbursements are typically received and processed 1-2 months after the campaign ends.
Once the funds are received, our staff will allocate them to your project’s account, and you’ll receive a confirmation email when the funds are processed and added to your project balance.
